How long has it been?

I have been away for quite some time, I didn’t realize that my last post was in March. Needless to say, I’ve been busy with life – I’m sure ya’ll have been busy too. Busy not only in our personal lives, but work and world stuff can be overwhelmingly huge and difficult to navigate. I have this three day holiday weekend to find some semblance of stillness and peace; find my center, grounding to the earth and sky salutations. I am still a working artist in the corporate world; mom hasn’t passed away yet; my garden is blooming like crazy – that is until summer hits and scorches everything brown. I’ve been to the veterinarian twice in the last couple weeks with my kitty girl. The vet thinks she has cancer, which means I will have to put her down – pretty wrecked about this. I’ve also been working on painting my kitchen cabinets. I’m happy with how that project is coming out. There’s just way too much stuff to handle everywhere and all at once.

Artwork, hmmm. I am still working on the Feather Girl piece. I know where I want to go with it next – I’ve only been able to find the time to work on it just one day in the last couple months. Reason being is for one, my unruly cottage garden begging for my absolute attention. I remind myself of Monet’s Giverny and aspire to create a gardening masterpiece like his, exploring my garden space with an artistic eye. And – really, just too many real life distractions to attempt painting and doing a good job at it. This is a photo of Feather Girl in my studio. There are lots of bits & pieces still to work in to the design; it’s about 3/4 done.
